This 3CD boxset was released in 1999 as part of Finlandia Records 20th Anniversary releases.

Insula Deserta was commissioned by the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra and was premiered on October 8, 1989 in Kokkola, Finland by the Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Juha Kangas.

Passion was premiered on October 25, 1993 in Tallinn, Estonia by the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste. Music Publishers Insula Deserta is published by M.P. Belaieff/C.F. Peters, Frankfurt

Passion is published by Warner/Chappell Music Finland. It is Part 2 of the 3-part work entitled Show

Other Points of Interest and Links

All three discs in this boxset are the same (i.e. music, liner notes, cover art etc.) as when purchased individually. The only repackaging involved is that they are contained in a slip cover with the 1992 colour etching Takaporras II (Backstairs II) by the Finnish artist Elina Luukanen on the cover.
The Cantabile CD liner notes are combined from original notes by Donatas Katkus and Harri Kuusisaari.

The Heino Eller School CD liner notes are by Estonian composer Lepo Sumera (1950-2000).
